Network Engineer

The Athens Exchange Group (ATHEX Group), certified as a Great Place to Work®, is currently seeking a Network Engineer. The role involves managing the ATHEXGroup's network infrastructure in a range of areas. These include supporting LAN/WAN and specific Cisco products, as well as administrating various services and tools. The role also involves implementing technologies and communication protocols. The Network Management Department is in charge of all active-active data centers of ATHEX Group, as we continuously upgrade our infrastructure to keep our network at a state-of-the-art level. Our main goal is to achieve zero downtime by implementing all modern techniques directed by the constructors.
As a member of the Networks Management Department team, your tasks will include:
- Supporting LAN / WAN and specific Cisco products in coordination with vendors
- Implementing networking technologies & communication protocols
- Designing, implementing, and supporting dark fiber infrastructure using Cisco DWDM equipment
- Continuously monitoring and implementing ATHEXGroup network infrastructure
- Deploying and configuring third-party applications, focused on security, performance monitoring, and redundancy aspects
- Maintaining network solutions and documentation for change management, incident management, procedures, and work runbooks
- Coordinating hardware warranty repair
- Managing Data Centers concerning all Points of Presence (PoPs) of ATHEXGroup (data center administrators)
- Assisting company-users in support of internal systems
- Standing by for 24/7 services on a basis of weekly rotation
- Troubleshooting and resolving daily network issues using packet capture analyzer platforms.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field
- Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field is a plus.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5 years of proven work experience as a network engineer
- Certification of CCNA Routing and Switching (CCNP will be considered a strong plus)
- Experience in automation programming and scripting for optimization of intra-day network applications
- Experience in DHCP and DNS services administration and support
- Experience and knowledge in the bellow would be a plus:
- Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
- Vmware ESXI virtualization systems
- Cloud Networking Solutions
- Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
- Positive attitude, highly motivated, proactive, and a team player.
Additional Optional Experience:
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues based on capture applications like Wireshark, Pico Corvil Analytics, Netbrain
- Administrating Load Balancing services (desired knowledge of NSX VMware Load Balancer)
- Supporting Cisco security systems (desired knowledge of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) and Cisco Firepower Chassis Manager (FCM))
- Administrating and supporting telephony IP Collaboration systems based on Cisco products
- Administrating management tools from Cisco (e.g. DCNM, Prime, StealthWatch) and other vendors (e.g. Microfocus NNMi, Netbrain platform)
- Administrating on-premises Wireless and Wired infrastructure with 802.1x and posture applications
- Designing, implementing, and supporting dark fiber infrastructure (desired knowledge of Cisco DWDM equipment).
