We seek a professional Junior Quant Risk Analyst passionate about driving innovation and growth in capital markets. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a solid quantitative background and a strong interest in risk management within the capital markets.
As a Junior Quant Risk Analyst, you will support the development and implementation of risk methodologies and tools to assess counterparty credit risk, market risk, and liquidity risk, with a particular focus on the valuation of fixed income and derivatives products.
The role reports to the Head of Risk Management Unit.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the identification, measurement, and monitoring of counterparty credit risk, market risk, and liquidity risk
- Assist in the design, calibration of risk methodologies (e.g., margin models, stress testing, sensitivity/scenario analysis, etc.)
- Perform valuation and sensitivity analysis of securities such as fixed income instruments and derivatives
- Assist in analyzing risk exposures using quantitative tools and prepare internal risk reports and dashboards
- Automate risk processes using programming tools and contribute to improving data pipelines
- Support the implementation of regulatory risk frameworks (e.g., EMIR, CPMI-IOSCO principles for CCPs, etc.)
- Collaborate with teams across clearing, risk policy, finance, and IT to ensure accurate and timely risk assessments
Knowledge and experience
- Up to 2 years of relevant work experience in risk management, quantitative analysis, or related areas in the financial sector
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or a similar field
- Solid knowledge of fixed income pricing, fixed income & equity derivatives, and basic option pricing models
- Familiarity with risk concepts such as exposure at default, VaR, initial margin, and liquidity risk metrics
- Experience with statistical modeling or scenario generation
- Understanding of CCP operations, collateral management, and risk waterfalls
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., EMIR, Basel III, CRR)
Skills & Competences
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
- Fulfilled military obligations (for men)
